“I’m Deeply Sorry,” Angela Okorie Apologises To Mercy Johnson

Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has publicly apologised to her colleague, Mercy Johnson, as well as her children and family, over past misunderstandings and exchanges on social media.

In a video shared on her Instagram account on Wednesday, Okorie thanked her fans for their support before addressing the apology directly to Mercy Johnson and her family.

“This video is specifically for Mercy and her kids and her family,” she said.

Reflecting on past disputes, Okorie attributed the rift to misinformation and third-party interference within the movie industry, noting that age and maturity had influenced her decision to seek peace.

“When you are getting older, a lot of things will be leaving you… There have been issues, quarrels and chaos, and at this age, I don’t think this is what I want,” she said.

She apologised for past comments and posts directed at Mercy Johnson, stressing that they were made in error.

“I just want to apologise to you if it’s just my words, if it’s the words I have written anytime your name pops out on social media. I am deeply sorry,” Okorie said, adding that she rejected negative labels attached to her colleague.

The actress also raised concerns about the impact of online conflicts on their children, condemning any form of bullying directed at Mercy Johnson’s children.

“We don’t know where our kids will meet each other tomorrow. They might be best of friends… I do not love the fact that they call Mercy’s kids names, which is bullying them in school,” she said.

“God in heaven knows that I don’t have anything against you. I love you, and I pray that God blesses you and lifts you higher,” she said.

Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that Okorie was recently arrested in Lagos by operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department over a seven-count charge bordering on alleged cyberstalking, threats and harassment, before she was granted bail in the sum of ₦5 million.
