Human rights advocate Deji Adeyanju has waved off the accusation made against the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, by a former Kaduna State governor.
In a correspondence dated Sunday, the 15th of February 2026, and directed to the NSA’s office, Nasir El-Rufai questioned the alleged importation of thallium sulphate, a highly toxic chemical from Poland into Nigeria.
The National Security Adviser has not issued any official response to the claim, but the allegation has stirred political debate across party lines.
Stakeholders within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have firmly dismissed the assertion, while figures in the opposition are demanding a thorough investigation into the matter.

Reacting via a post on X, Adeyanju maintained that even if such an importation were conceivable, he finds the source of the allegation unreliable, branding El-Rufai as habitually dishonest.
He wrote: “It is possible the NSA’s office imported toxic materials into the country, but because it is coming from El-Rufai, I consider it a lie and his usual propaganda.
“El-Rufai is an unrepentant liar, a bigot, and a person without shame. He once said GEJ had a sniper list of critics.”
