NGF Condemns Niger, Kwara Terror Attacks

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has reacted with deep alarm to the coordinated terrorist assault that struck the Niger State communities of Tunga-Makeri, Konkoso, and Alissa on Saturday night, leaving several people dead and others abducted.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the 15th of February, 2026, by its Chairman, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the forum conveyed its sympathies to the government and residents of Niger State over the tragic development.

“The NGF also condoles the people and government of Kwara State on the recent terrorist attack in Woro, Kaiama LGA, in which dozens of innocent people were killed for rejecting strange doctrine that is inconsistent with Islam.

“We send our sincerest condolences to all the families who lost dear ones in these unfortunate terrorist attacks, acknowledge and identify with the trauma and pains of the survivors, and pray for the safe returns of those still missing.

Beyond its condolences, the forum called on security agencies to deploy the full force of the state against those responsible for the violence and their accomplices, insisting that decisive action must be taken to end the wave of terror.

“We strongly believe in the capacity of our security forces to win this war against terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping,” the statement added.
