The Lagos State Wastewater Management Office has sealed a public toilet in Ijora Olopa and a residential property in Coker-Aguda, Surulere, over environmental pollution and improper discharge of wastewater.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the agency said the public toilet located at Ijora Olopa via Nipost was shut on February 24, 2026, for the deliberate discharge of raw sewage and wastewater into the environment using a pumping machine.
The office described the act as a public nuisance that constitutes environmental pollution and poses a threat to human health.
According to the agency, the enforcement action forms part of its statutory mandate to safeguard public health and prevent environmental degradation across the state.

The agency warned that violations of wastewater regulations would not be tolerated, stressing that acts of environmental nuisance would attract appropriate sanctions, including possible prosecution in line with extant state laws.
It also urged residents to adopt proper wastewater management and hygiene practices to promote public health and environmental sustainability.
The office advised members of the public to report infractions through its official lines — 08022022397 and 07025332163 — or via its social media platforms.
