The Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party is set to hold a crucial meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, following the political fallout from a court ruling that nullified the party’s 2025 national convention.
The meeting, scheduled for March 11, 2026, comes days after the Court of Appeal upheld an earlier judgment that invalidated the party’s National Convention held in Ibadan on November 15 and 16, 2025.
According to a notice obtained by our correspondent and signed by the BoT Chairman, Mao Ohuabunwa, the meeting will begin at 2 pm and will take place at 1, Sabo Ago Street, LifeCamp in Abuja.
The notice formally invited members of the board to attend the gathering, describing it as an important meeting for the party at a critical moment.
“This serves to formally invite all members of the Board of Trustees of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party, to a meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 2 pm. Venue is 1, Sabo Ago Street, LifeCamp, Abuja,” the statement read.
Ohuabunwa explained that the meeting was convened by the Board of Trustees and is recognised by the party’s current caretaker leadership led by Abdulrahman Mohammed and Samuel Anyanwu.

He noted that the board currently recognised by the caretaker leadership was constituted in line with the ruling of the Federal High Court and subsequently ratified by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.
The BoT chairman also warned party members to disregard any other invitations claiming to summon a meeting of the board.
“Kindly ignore any other notice purporting to call for a meeting of the BoT,” he stated.
Ohuabunwa further clarified that attendance would be strictly restricted to duly notified members of the board, stressing that only accredited BoT members would be allowed access to the meeting venue.
He advised individuals who are not members of the board to refrain from coming to the location, as security and accreditation procedures would be enforced.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to shape the party’s next steps following the court’s decision, as the PDP seeks to navigate the legal and political implications of the nullified convention.
