Police Arrest Two Suspected Robbers, Recover Toy Gun In Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and recovered a toy gun during a routine stop-and-search operation in Akure.

The suspects, identified as Simeon George and Moses Daniel, were apprehended in the early hours of March 15, 2026, along the Oba-Ile axis of the city. The operation was carried out by police operatives in collaboration with local vigilante members.

This was made known in a statement by the command Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, on Friday.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, officers discovered a toy gun and a headlamp concealed in a bag belonging to the suspects during the search.

Lawal stated that their inability to provide a satisfactory explanation for the items raised suspicion about their intentions.

The suspects have since been taken into custody, while the recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The Police also confirmed that the case has been transferred to the appropriate investigative unit for further examination to determine whether the suspects are linked to any criminal activities.
