Indonesian authorities have arrested a 45-year-old United Kingdom national in Bali who is wanted by Interpol for alleged transnational drug trafficking and money laundering.
The suspect, identified as “SL” by police and reported by British media as Steven Lyons from Scotland, was detained upon arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Bali police chief Daniel Adityajaya said Lyons is accused of being “the leader of a large-scale transnational criminal organisation engaged in drug trafficking and money laundering.”

Lyons, arriving from Singapore, was flagged as an “Interpol red notice subject” during routine immigration checks, according to airport immigration head Bugie Kurniawan.
Interpol Indonesia bureau secretary Untung Widyatmoko stated that Lyons’ network operates in Spain, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, and Turkey.
Authorities expect Lyons to be deported to the United Kingdom on Wednesday, while police continue searching for two associates who traveled with him but escaped detection.
