Nollywood actress Lilian Afegbai, popularly known as Lily Afe, has expressed disappointment after being excluded from the Best Supporting Actress category at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Lily, who played Idia in Kemi Adetiba’s To Kill a Monkey, reacted on X (formerly Twitter) shortly after the nominees were announced by host Chimezie Imo.
“I always choose to believe everything happens for a reason. I don’t need a nomination for validation,” she wrote.

She added, “The truth is clear nobody trended like IDIA from TKAM last year. Her acting was 💯💯,” before concluding, “You guys can eat your award. Amvca SMH.”
The Best Supporting Actress category features Linda Ejiofor (The Herd), Bisola Aiyeola (Gingerrr), Sola Sobowale (The Covenant), and Funke Akindele (Behind The Scenes).
The 12th edition of the AMVCA, scheduled for May 9, will feature 32 awards across jury-voted, audience-voted, and special recognition categories.
