The Nigerian DJ Association has announced a temporary ban on songs by Afrobeats star Burna Boy, following a reported altercation involving the singer and popular disc jockey DJ Tunez at a private event in Lagos.
The development comes amid allegations that Burna Boy and members of his entourage were involved in a confrontation with DJ Tunez inside a nightclub, where a disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical altercation.
Eyewitness accounts circulating online claimed that several individuals were involved in the incident, with DJ Tunez said to have been assaulted during the scuffle.
However, details surrounding the cause of the dispute remain unclear, and no official statement has been issued by Burna Boy’s management team.
In a statement shared on Instagram on Tuesday, the DJ body expressed solidarity with DJ Tunez and directed its members, both in Nigeria and the diaspora, to remove Burna Boy’s music from their playlists pending further investigation.
