Former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has said his exits from both the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress were not voluntary, but the result of internal political battles.
Amaechi, now a presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress, made the claim during an interview on Channels Television on Friday, April 17.
He alleged that during his time in the PDP, former president, Goodluck Jonathan, and his wife, Patience Jonathan, sidelined him after taking control of the party structure in Rivers State.

According to him, a similar pattern repeated itself in the APC after he contested the party’s presidential primary election alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Explaining his movement between parties, Amaechi maintained that he did not leave on his own terms.
“I was chased out of PDP, APC by the then president.
“The president and his wife took over the party structure in Rivers State and chased me out. The same thing happened in APC.”
