The National Youth Service Corps has announced a revision in the orientation timetable for prospective corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun States under the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II exercise.
In a statement issued on Monday, April 20, the agency’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, said the adjustment affects only the two states due to ongoing developments at their orientation camps.
According to the statement, the orientation course in Enugu and Osun will now begin on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and conclude on Monday, May 18, 2026.
“This slight adjustment is due to the on-going extensive renovation of the Camps by the State Governments which has necessitated the change in date,” the statement said.
The NYSC clarified that the revised schedule does not affect other states or the Federal Capital Territory.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Orientation Exercise for all other states and the FCT is scheduled to be held from Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to Tuesday, May 12, 2026,” it added.
The scheme advised all affected prospective corps members to take note of the new dates and adjust their travel plans accordingly.
It also extended goodwill messages to participants, wishing them safe journeys to their respective deployment states.
The announcement comes shortly after the NYSC released call-up letters for prospective corps members participating in the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II exercise.
The orientation programme marks the beginning of the mandatory national service year for Nigerian graduates, which includes paramilitary training, civic education, and skill acquisition activities designed to prepare participants for national integration and service.
