The mother of 28-year-old musician Oghenemine Ogidi, who was fatally shot by a police officer in Effurun, Delta State, has called for the execution of all officers involved in the incident, insisting they should face the same fate as her son.
Ogidi, popularly known as Mene or OG Millan, was killed on April 26, 2026, by Assistant Superintendent of Police Nuhu Usman.
The officer reportedly shot him while he was handcuffed after being arrested over allegations of attempting to waybill a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and four rounds of ammunition.
The incident sparked nationwide outrage after a video surfaced online showing the victim restrained, pleading for his life, before being shot twice in broad daylight.
Speaking during an interview with News Central on Friday, the grieving mother said she understood that no form of justice could bring back her son, but insisted accountability must be enforced.
“Not that it will bring my child back but I will know that Nigeria tried for me,” she said.
She also demanded that individuals connected to the transportation of the parcel be investigated and prosecuted.
“The driver that carried that package all the way from Sapele to that park, I want them to bring the driver. And even the chairman of that park, I want him to be brought to book,” she said.

Beyond that, she called for all four police officers present at the scene to be held responsible for the killing.
“And the four policemen, including the one that cocked the gun and the one that shot him, I want all of them to be brought to book,” she said.
She further insisted that the officers should face the same manner of death as her son.
“And the way my son died, I want them to die like that,” she said.
In response to the public backlash, the Delta State Police Command arrested the officer involved and transferred him to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for further disciplinary procedures.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, later confirmed during an appearance on Channels Television that the officer would be prosecuted for murder.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Yemi Oyeniyi, condemned the incident, describing it as an extrajudicial killing.
He also extended condolences to the bereaved family and assured them that justice would be pursued.
