Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has accepted a long-running celebrity boxing challenge involving fellow actress Iyabo Ojo and entertainment promoter Paulo Okoye, reigniting a dispute that has lingered across Nigeria’s entertainment space for years.
In a post shared on Instagram on Sunday, May 3, 2026, Anjorin confirmed her readiness to take up the challenge, which was first proposed by Okoye years earlier as a celebrity boxing contest between her and Ojo.
“As at today, 3rd May 2026, I accept your challenge,” she wrote.
However, she introduced fresh conditions, proposing that Okoye first face her husband, Chief Lawal, in a 10-round bout before she would agree to step into the ring with Ojo.
“You (Paulo) and Chief Lawal will fight 10 rounds non-stop in the ring. Then the next day, it will be me and Iyabo Ojo in the ring,” she added.
Anjorin also intensified the exchange with pointed remarks directed at both Okoye and Ojo, demanding that they publicly present proof of their financial status and achievements.

The latest development adds another layer to a long-running and often publicised feud between Anjorin and Ojo, which has played out through social media exchanges, court filings, and public statements over several years.
The dispute, rooted in a mix of professional and personal disagreements, escalated into legal confrontations and sustained public hostility.
In 2024, Okoye had floated the idea of a celebrity boxing match between both actresses, attaching a ₦10 million prize to the proposed bout.
Tensions heightened further in 2025 when Ojo filed a ₦1 billion defamation suit against Anjorin. The case was later struck out on procedural grounds, although Ojo reportedly indicated plans to pursue further legal action.
Since then, both sides have continued to trade allegations, counter-allegations, and police petitions, keeping the feud active in public discourse.
Anjorin’s acceptance comes amid rising interest in celebrity boxing in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, where organized celebrity bouts have recently drawn significant public attention.
