The Lagos State Government has sealed Balmoral Convention Centre in Victoria Island and Foodies Restaurant in Lekki Phase 1 over violations of wastewater management regulations.
The enforcement was carried out on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, by the Lagos State Wastewater Management Office, with details made public the next day by the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab.
Findings showed that Balmoral Convention Centre was discharging untreated sewage into public drainage channels through pumping equipment, while wastewater also overflowed from a blocked sewage chamber, creating environmental nuisance.

Foodies Restaurant on Admiralty Way was shut for releasing untreated wastewater, including fats and oils, into public drains, contributing to pollution and blockage of drainage systems.
Officials said both facilities had previously been warned but failed to comply with environmental standards, prompting the enforcement action.
The government said the affected premises will remain sealed until they meet regulatory requirements and obtain clearance from the appropriate authorities, warning that similar violations will attract sanctions as monitoring and enforcement continue across the state.
