FCT Police Probe Disappearance Of NYSC Member In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has launched an investigation into the disappearance of a serving National Youth Service Corps member, Linda Eunice Ameh, who was last seen after leaving her workplace in Abuja.

Ameh, a lawyer serving in the FCT, was last seen on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, after closing from work at Blades and Butchers Ltd., a livestock and meat processing company on Lake Chad Crescent, Maitama.

She had worked at the firm as a sales manager for about two weeks before her disappearance and resides at a corps members’ lodge in the Life Camp area of Abuja.

Her disappearance was reported at the Maitama Police Division on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at about 6:30 p.m. by a colleague, Mr Zachariah, after she failed to return home.

The FCT Police Command immediately opened an investigation, which was confirmed on Friday, May 8, 2026, by its spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh.

According to her, Ameh left her office at about 5:40 p.m. on May 6, 2026, but never arrived home and has not been seen since. She added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, ordered a full investigation upon receipt of the report.

The police urged anyone with useful information to report to the nearest station or contact the command via 07038979348.

The National Youth Service Corps has yet to issue an official statement on the matter as of press time.
