Eid-El-Kabir: Tinubu, Atiku Observe Prayers In Lagos, Abuja

President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Wednesday, May 27, joined Muslim faithful in separate locations to observe Eid prayers in Lagos and Abuja respectively.

Tinubu observed the prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, where he was joined by top government officials and political allies.

Among those present were his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate in Lagos, Obafemi Hamzat, as well as other Muslim faithful.

Details of the President’s participation were shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who posted on X.

He wrote, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside former Governor of Lagos State Babatunde Raji Fashola, the Lagos APC governorship candidate, and other Muslim faithful, observed the Eid Mubarak prayers at Dodan Barracks in Lagos State.”

In Abuja, Atiku also observed Eid prayers at the AYA Mosque, where he worshipped alongside other faithful.

In a message shared on his social media handle, he said the occasion was marked with gratitude to God for His blessings.

“I joined fellow Muslims this morning at the AYA Mosque in Abuja to observe the Eid prayers in gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings,” he wrote.

Atiku, the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, used the occasion to call for unity, peace and compassion among Nigerians.

“As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the spirit of Eid strengthen our bonds of unity, compassion, sacrifice, and peace as one people and one nation,” he stated.

He also extended goodwill messages to Muslims across Nigeria and around the world.

“Eid Mubarak to all Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world. May Allah accept our prayers and grant lasting peace and prosperity to our nation,” he added.
