Federal High Court Opens Registries On Weekends For Pre-Election Matters

The Federal High Court of Nigeria has announced that its registries across all judicial divisions will now open on weekends and public holidays for the filing of pre-election matters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The directive was issued in a statement on Thursday and signed by the Chief Registrar of the court, Yahaya Shafa.

According to the court, the decision was necessary due to constitutional and statutory timelines governing the filing and determination of pre-election cases.
