Makinde Meets NANS, NUT, NLC Protesters, Reassures Rescue Of Abducted Pupils, Teachers

Governor Seyi Makinde has assured residents of Oyo State that authorities at all levels of government are intensifying efforts to secure the release of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area.

The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday after meeting with representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who staged a protest to the Oyo State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan.

The groups had converged on the secretariat to express concerns over the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire LGA and to demand urgent action from the government to ensure their safe return.

Addressing the protesters, Makinde said the state government shares their concerns and remains committed to the safety and welfare of all residents.

According to the governor, security agencies and government authorities at the federal, state and local government levels are working in collaboration to rescue the victims and bring the situation to a successful conclusion.
