Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist informant during a targeted operation in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The arrest was disclosed in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who said the operation followed actionable intelligence on individuals allegedly supporting terrorist activities in the area.
According to the report, troops of the 221 Battalion carried out the operation on June 4 in the Kara and Wawa communities, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
Security sources said the suspect had been on the watchlist of security agencies over alleged links with terrorist groups operating within the region.

The military alleged that the suspect served as an informant for terrorists, providing intelligence and information that could aid the planning and execution of their movements and operations.
The operation formed part of ongoing efforts by security forces to dismantle terrorist support networks and disrupt the activities of armed groups across parts of Niger State and the wider North-Central region.
The suspect is currently being held in military custody and is assisting investigators with ongoing inquiries into his alleged involvement and possible connections to terrorist elements.
Security agencies have continued to intensify intelligence-driven operations aimed at identifying and apprehending individuals suspected of aiding criminal and terrorist groups across the country.
