Suspected Lakurawa terrorists have reportedly killed two marine Customs officers during an attack on a checkpoint in Gendene community, Bagudu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The attack reportedly occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Wednesday when the gunmen stormed the officers’ duty post.
A resident of the community, Bello Shata, said one of the victims, believed to be a senior officer, was burnt alive after the attackers allegedly set fire to the building where he was sleeping.
Sources within the area also disclosed that the attackers burnt the operational vehicle being used by the officers during the assault.

Residents further revealed that two villagers, a man and a woman, sustained gunshot injuries during the incident and are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
When contacted over the development, the spokesperson of the Kebbi State Police Command, SP Bashir Usman, said the command was still gathering details about the attack.
“We will issue a statement once we get the full report,” he stated.
