Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have recorded major operational successes across the North-East theatre, including the foiling of terrorist attacks, neutralisation of Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters, arrest of criminal collaborators, and rescue of abducted civilians.
In a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page on Friday, the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lt. Sani Uba, said the operations were conducted in collaboration with Operation DESERT SANITY V/SIEGE OPERATIONS.
The military disclosed that troops successfully thwarted coordinated terrorist activities along the Buratai–Chara axis in Borno State after surveillance systems detected a large movement of insurgents.
It was gathered that Troops reportedly engaged the terrorists with heavy firepower, forcing them to retreat, while Quick Response Forces pursued the fleeing fighters.
The statement noted that several terrorists were neutralised during the operation, while troops recovered 169 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. No casualties were recorded among the troops.
In a separate operation, troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters, carried out a successful ambush around Kasaicia village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
During the operation, four Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists were killed and two AK-47 rifles were recovered.
Troops of Sector 1 OPHK also foiled another terrorist attack along the Kirawa axis, inflicting heavy casualties on insurgents while maintaining control of the area.
The military further disclosed that coordinated offensives were carried out across several locations, including the Damboa–Kanama, Damboa–Gwoza, Goniri axis, and Forward Operating Base (FOB) Azir, in a bid to deny terrorists freedom of movement.
In Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, security operatives arrested three suspected armed robbers at Gar Gwigwi village following credible intelligence. Recovered items included mobile phones, wristwatches, charms, cash, a dagger, and a dane gun, which was later returned to its owner after verification.
In another operation, troops arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator in Monguno and apprehended a suspected drug peddler in Mubi South Local Government Area of Adamawa State with substances suspected to be cannabis sativa.

The military also reported progress in ongoing rescue operations. Troops rescued additional abducted civilians along the Ngoshe–Amuda axis, bringing the total number of rescued victims linked to the Ngoshe incident to 69.
A kidnapped victim rescued in the Gwoza axis revealed that sustained military offensives and bombardments of terrorist hideouts in the Mandara Mountains forced many captives to flee.
In another operation, four civilians rescued through collaboration with cross-border partners were medically attended to, documented, and reunited with their families.
Meanwhile, troops in Sector 2, Damaturu, Yobe State, marked the Eid-el-Adha celebration with a Sallah event hosted by the Sector Commander, Brigadier General Edet Effiong.
The event brought together military personnel, traditional leaders, dignitaries, and patients from the Level II Field Hospital, with the military saying the gathering helped boost troop morale and strengthen civil-military relations.
The theatre command also confirmed the recovery of additional arms, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), bombs, and logistics supplies abandoned by fleeing insurgents during clearance operations in the Magza area.
Operation HADIN KAI reassured residents of the North-East of its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist groups and restoring peace, security, and economic stability across the region.
The military authority commended troops for their “professionalism, resilience and impressive battle performance,” urging them to maintain the current operational momentum in the interest of national security.
