The late musician was part of the early generation of Fuji artistes who contributed significantly to the development of the genre from its Yoruba traditional percussion roots into a more structured and widely embraced urban sound.

Over several decades, he maintained a steady presence in the Fuji circuit and was widely regarded as a veteran whose career reflected the growth and evolution of the genre across southwestern Nigeria.

His death has continued to draw tributes from colleagues and stakeholders in the entertainment industry, many of whom described him as an elder statesman whose contributions helped shape and strengthen the foundation of Fuji music.

His passing marks another major loss for Nigeria’s entertainment industry, particularly among pioneering Fuji musicians whose work defined the identity and cultural reach of the genre.
