The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun uploading polling unit results from the Ekiti State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV), more than two hours after voting officially ended across the state on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The upload commenced at about 4:10pm, following concerns raised by election observers and other stakeholders over the absence of results on the digital platform despite the conclusion of voting and the completion of sorting and counting processes in several polling units.
The IReV portal is part of INEC’s Result Viewing system introduced to promote transparency by allowing the public to view scanned polling unit result sheets uploaded directly from polling stations.

The system works alongside the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which is used for voter verification during elections.
Before the start of the upload, results from multiple polling units had already been counted manually at ward levels in line with electoral procedures, while presiding officers were expected to transmit results electronically to the central viewing portal.
As of the time of filing this report, results had begun appearing gradually on the IReV platform, though coverage across polling units remained incomplete as uploading continued.
INEC is expected to sustain the process until all polling unit results are fully transmitted and made available for public viewing on the portal.
