Paul Ibe, media aide to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has challenged the Presidency to respond to what he described as unresolved issues surrounding allegations made against President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The demand follows claims by Adeniyi Matthew, who identified himself as the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), accusing Gbajabiamila of involvement in an alleged appointment-for-cash scheme.
Matthew alleged that Gbajabiamila requested N27.4 billion from the take-off grant of the purported agency and received N400 million through intermediaries in exchange for facilitating his appointment as the agency’s director-general.
In response, the Presidency dismissed the allegations in a statement issued on Wednesday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
The statement maintained that both the accuser and the alleged agency were unknown to the Federal Government.

Despite the denial, Ibe argued that the Presidency’s response left critical issues unanswered, particularly regarding the existence and activities of the council.
In a post on his official X handle, Ibe said though Onanuga has “said so much, but we want answers to the following:
“Who smuggled N1.3 billion for Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi’s Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) in the 2026 Budget?
Did Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila receive N400 million alleged bribe from Adeyemi?
“Don’t you think that your Presidency gives itself away as one big scam if an individual can easily secure office space from the Federal Secretariat for the purposes of the “scam” PFIPC operations?”
