The National Youth Service Corps has issued a set of guidelines for prospective corps members ahead of the forthcoming orientation exercise, urging them to avoid travelling at night and ensure all registration requirements are met before arriving at camp.
In a notice shared on its official X account on Monday, the scheme stressed the importance of safety, advising prospective corps members to plan their journeys in a way that eliminates the risks associated with overnight travel.
The NYSC also cautioned that prospective corps members whose graduation dates on their call-up letters differ from those on their statements of results would be denied registration at the orientation camps.
According to the scheme, affected candidates are expected to resolve any discrepancies with their respective Student Affairs Officers before reporting for the exercise.
The agency further instructed prospective corps members to print, sign, and present the required registration form during the orientation camp registration process, noting that failure to comply could delay their clearance.

For candidates seeking to correct their dates of birth, the NYSC outlined a procedure requiring them to obtain a 19- or 20-digit WAEC Verification PIN before initiating the correction through their NYSC online dashboard.
The process involves accessing the “Correction of Date of Birth” option, entering the WAEC Verification PIN, selecting the examination type, year, and examination number, before verifying the details and submitting the request.
The NYSC urged all prospective corps members to adhere strictly to the guidelines to ensure a seamless registration process and avoid unnecessary complications during the orientation programme.
