Cameroon secured its first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title on Sunday after defeating debutants Malawi 3-0 in the 2026 final in Rabat, Morocco.
The Indomitable Lionesses settled the contest before the break, scoring all three goals in a dominant first-half display.
Marie Ngah Manga put Cameroon ahead before Naomi Eto doubled the advantage with an impressive swivelling finish. Ngah Manga struck again before halftime to complete her brace and send Cameroon into the interval with a commanding 3-0 lead.

The victory marks a historic breakthrough for Cameroon, which had previously reached the WAFCON final three times without lifting the trophy.
The Lionesses’ most recent appearance in the final came in 2016, when they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Nigeria.
After years of falling short at the final hurdle, Cameroon finally ended its wait for continental glory with a convincing victory over Malawi.
