The Kaduna State Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandit hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.
The operation was conducted by police operatives in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan.
Hassan disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Kaduna, stating that the operation was carried out at about 8:00 a.m.
He said the security operatives raided suspected bandit enclaves around the Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending towards the boundary with Kano State.
According to him, two structures identified as hideouts allegedly used by bandits to hold abducted victims were destroyed during the operation.
The structures were located at Rugar Mining Goggo and Ungwar Maryamu in the Danguzuri area.

He added that normalcy had been restored in the affected communities, while joint security patrols remained ongoing to prevent the bandits from regrouping or returning to the area.
The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by security agencies in Kaduna State to disrupt bandit networks and deny criminal groups access to hideouts used for kidnapping and other violent activities.
The Commissioner of Police in Kaduna State, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended residents of the affected communities for their cooperation with the security agencies.
He also praised the security operatives involved in the clearance operation for their gallantry and commitment to combating criminality.
Muhammad reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminal activity across the state.
The police urged residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing relevant information that could assist in identifying criminal hideouts and preventing further attacks.
