Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued kidnapped persons, arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator and recovered 318 rustled livestock during coordinated operations across Kaduna, Katsina and Zamfara states.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in an operational report issued on Friday, June 19, 2026, noting that the gains were recorded during sustained clearance and offensive actions against bandit and terrorist elements in the North-West.
In Kaduna State, troops operating from a Forward Operating Base in Kadage, Igabi Local Government Area, intercepted bandit activity and rescued two women and a toddler who had been abandoned during movement by their abductors.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped in May 2026 from Kajenjere Tami village and were being transferred between criminal hideouts when troops moved in. They were taken for medical care and later reunited with their families.

In Zamfara State, troops in collaboration with a Tactical Strike Team arrested a 19-year-old suspected terrorist collaborator at a checkpoint along the Kaura Namoda–Zurmi road. The suspect is currently in custody and assisting with investigations.
In Katsina State, troops carried out an offensive operation in Matazu Local Government Area following intelligence reports and aerial surveillance by the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma.
The operation targeted identified terrorist hideouts, leading to the recovery of 318 rustled livestock, comprising 36 cattle, 280 sheep and two donkeys.
The Army said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to disrupt criminal networks and restore security across affected communities, while assuring residents of continued military presence and swift response to distress calls.
