First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has been honoured with the traditional title “Oso Di Eme 1 of Imo State”, recognising her support for her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Her spokesperson, Busola Kukoyi, announced the honour on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, saying “Oso Di Eme 1” means “she who supports her husband.”
Kukoyi said the title reflects the First Lady’s standing as a worthy partner to the President.

The announcement did not identify the traditional institution that conferred the title or provide details of the ceremony.
The Imo honour follows similar recognitions. In June 2025, the Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council gave her the title “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu” in recognition of her humanitarian efforts.
In February 2026, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, also conferred on her the title “Utukpa-Oritse of Warri Kingdom” during her visit to Warri, Delta State.
Oluremi Tinubu, a former senator representing Lagos Central, became First Lady after President Tinubu’s inauguration on May 29, 2023.
