Nollywood actress Shine Rosman has officially closed a seven-year chapter at the University of Lagos, marking a significant personal milestone at a time when her acting career is also entering an increasingly busy phase.
Rosman recently shared the excitement of signing out from the university, bringing an end to years of juggling academic commitments with the demands of a career in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Her graduation comes at an interesting point in her journey, with the actress having recently featured in several notable productions and set her sights on opportunities beyond Nigeria.
For Rosman, the journey through university was never entirely separate from the spotlight. While her classmates were navigating lectures, examinations and assignments, she was also attending auditions, stepping onto film sets and building a reputation as one of the emerging faces of Nollywood.
That balancing act became particularly evident during the production of Kemi Adetiba’s Netflix crime drama, To Kill a Monkey. Rosman landed a role in the highly anticipated series while preparing for university examinations.
Rather than allowing the opportunity to derail her academic responsibilities, she completed her examinations before joining the production, eventually portraying Amanda Sparkles.
The Netflix project became one of the more prominent additions to her acting résumé, placing her alongside established performers and giving her another major platform to showcase her talent.
It also offered a glimpse into the unusual demands of building an entertainment career while still pursuing a university education.
Her graduation arrives after another busy period on screen. Earlier in 2026, Rosman appeared in Alive Till Dawn, a Nigerian survival film built around a zombie outbreak. She played Alex, one of the characters forced to navigate the chaos created by the deadly outbreak, taking on a genre that is still relatively uncommon in mainstream Nigerian cinema.
She is also part of East West Love, a Nigeria-Kenya romantic drama directed by Seko Shamte. Rosman plays Tito in the film, which follows a woman whose journey from Lagos to Mombasa takes an unexpected turn after heartbreak, leading her towards friendship, healing and the possibility of a new relationship.

The project adds another dimension to a year that has already seen Rosman move between very different kinds of productions. From the crime-driven world of To Kill a Monkey to the survival elements of Alive Till Dawn and the romantic setting of East West Love, her recent choices have kept her visible across different corners of the industry.
Her screen journey itself dates back to 2015, when she appeared in Lunch Time Heroes. Since then, she has featured in productions including The Boy Next Door, Teni’s Big Day, Things We Do for Love, When Love Strikes and The Waiter, steadily expanding her body of work.
But while her acting credits have continued to grow, Rosman has not limited herself to film and television. She has also worked in modelling and digital content and has used her public platform to draw attention to social issues, including sexual harassment and the safety of women in public spaces.
Now, with university officially behind her, the timing of Rosman’s sign-out could hardly be more interesting. The actress is stepping into a post-university phase with an established body of work, recent high-profile screen appearances and ambitions that stretch beyond the Nigerian film industry.
In a recent conversation with filmmaker and comedian AY Makun, Rosman spoke about her desire to take on leading roles in Indian and Spanish productions. She also expressed a willingness to learn another language if necessary for a role, signalling the scale of the international possibilities she hopes to explore.
Her immediate future, therefore, comes with a different kind of freedom. The examinations are done, the sign-out photographs have been taken and one of the longest commitments outside her acting career has reached its conclusion.
What follows is the more intriguing part.
Shine Rosman now gets to pursue the next stage of her career without having to divide the same calendar between lecture halls and film sets. With East West Love adding to her recent screen engagements and international ambitions already on her radar, the actress appears to be entering a new professional phase at precisely the moment she has finished one of the most demanding chapters of her personal journey.
After seven years at UNILAG, Rosman has finally signed out. For Nollywood, however, it looks less like an ending than the beginning of a potentially busier chapter for the actress.
