NIS Names Cardiff Venue For October UK Passport Exercise

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has confirmed the Western Leisure Centre, Ely, Cardiff, as the venue for its Special Passport Intervention Exercise in the United Kingdom.

The Cardiff exercise will run from October 6 to 30, 2026, at Western Leisure Centre, Cardiff CF5 5HJ, the Service said on Friday, October 2.

The announcement follows the extension of the UK intervention programme after sustained demand for passport services. Cardiff is among four locations covered by the extended exercise, alongside London, Manchester and Aberdeen.

Applicants must book appointments before attending and appear strictly at their allocated dates and times. The NIS said there will be no walk-in service.

Those attending must bring their completed application forms, payment slips, appointment printouts and self-addressed return envelopes.

Applicants seeking passport renewal or reissue must also present their current passports, except those applying for fresh passports or reporting lost passports.

Cash payments will not be accepted at the venue.

The intervention builds on the NIS’s earlier UK exercise, which recorded high demand in London and Manchester and was subsequently extended to allow more Nigerians in the diaspora to access passport services.

The Service urged applicants to keep their appointments and cooperate with officials to ensure orderly processing.
