The Nigeria Democratic Congress has inaugurated its newly acquired national secretariat in Abuja as the party steps up preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The facility, located in Jabi, Federal Capital Territory, was unveiled on Monday following an emergency meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee.
Among the party chieftains present at the ceremony were its National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas; National Leader, Senator Seriake Dickson; Senator Victor Umeh, representing Anambra Central in the National Assembly; and the party’s Rivers State governorship candidate, Dumo Lulu-Briggs.
Other leaders and members of the party also attended the event.

The newly acquired building is expected to serve as both the party’s national headquarters and presidential campaign headquarters ahead of the 2027 elections.
The development is part of efforts by the NDC to strengthen its organisational structure and establish a central facility for coordinating its political activities nationwide.
Dickson, while congratulating party members and supporters on the acquisition, described the secretariat as a unifying centre for the party.
The inauguration comes as political parties begin to consolidate their structures and mobilise support ahead of the next general elections.
The NDC has positioned itself as an opposition platform seeking to provide an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.
