The pupils and teachers abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have regained their freedom after days in captivity.
The development was announced on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
In a post shared on his verified X handle, Onanuga confirmed that the victims had been released by their abductors.
“Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been freed by their abductors,” he wrote.

Although the release has brought relief to families and residents, authorities have yet to provide details surrounding the circumstances of their freedom.
As of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether any ransom was paid, if security operatives played a role in securing their release, or whether arrests have been made in connection with the abduction.
The Federal Government and Oyo State authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the development.
The abduction had sparked widespread concern over the safety of pupils and teachers, renewing calls for stronger security measures to protect schools and educational institutions across the country.
