The Abia State Government has commenced the reallocation of newly constructed shops at the Ekeoha Shopping Complex in Aba as part of efforts to reposition the state’s commercial infrastructure.
The exercise, being coordinated by the Ministry of Trade and Commerce in collaboration with Rhino Homes and Properties Limited, is targeted at traders and applicants who have completed payment for shops under the Phase One redevelopment project.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the ministry explained that the reallocation process is strictly for existing shop owners affected by the redevelopment whose allocation certificates are captured in the official Market Register, as well as new applicants who secured preliminary clearance from either the ministry or Rhino Homes.
According to the government, only applicants who have fully paid for their shops will be eligible to participate in the exercise.
The ministry noted that participants seeking final clearance and reallocation must present documented proof of previous ownership or preliminary approval, alongside evidence of full payment for the allocated shops.
Officials further announced that the verification and reallocation process will run from May 7 to May 14, 2026.

Applicants were advised that the process could be completed online through the official portal, where required documents are to be uploaded using an active email address.
For those opting for physical verification, the ministry directed applicants to visit the GADA Building located at No. 3 River Avenue, Aba, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on working days with both original and photocopies of their documents, including a valid national identity card.
The government also assured participants that all verified allocations would be formally entered into the Market Register, after which successful applicants would receive official Certificates of Allocation from the Ministry of Trade and Commerce.
The redevelopment of the Ekeoha Shopping Complex is part of the Abia State Government’s broader plan to modernise trading facilities in Aba, improve the business environment, and enhance commercial activities across the state.
