Abia Lands Commissioner Tours Lagos To Learn Cutting-Edge Land Management

The Lagos State Government on Monday hosted the Abia State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Chaka Chukwumerije, alongside officials from the Abia State Ministry of Lands, for a study tour on land administration practices.

The visit, disclosed in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat, was aimed at learning from Lagos State’s land administration framework, particularly the use of technology-driven solutions to improve service delivery and address land-related challenges.

The Abia delegation was received by the Special Adviser on eGIS and Urban Development, Olajide Babatunde, and participated in an interactive session. They were taken on a guided tour of key land administration facilities, including the Lagos GIS Centre, the Land Digitization Centre, the Lagos Land Archive, and the Electronic Physical Planning Centre.

The visitors also toured the Lagos State Lands Bureau, where they engaged with the Executive Secretary and other senior officials. The statement said the engagement provided an opportunity for both states to exchange insights and best practices in land management.

The Lagos State Government noted that the visit reflects growing inter-state collaboration aimed at improving governance, leveraging technology, and strengthening institutional capacity in land administration across Nigeria.
