The Abia State Police Command has released its annual performance review, showcasing a significant offensive against criminal elements across the state.
Between January 2025 and the present, the Command successfully intercepted 809 suspects linked to 438 different criminal cases.
During a press briefing held at the State Headquarters in Umuahia on Friday, the 19th of December, 2025, Commissioner of Police Danladi Isa detailed the operational milestones achieved under his leadership, emphasizing a data-driven approach to restoring public order.
The Command’s efforts led to a substantial removal of illegal weaponry from the streets. CP Isa reported the recovery of 88 firearms and 435 rounds of live ammunition from various high-risk locations.
Beyond arrests, the Command has prioritized the judicial conclusion of cases to ensure the efforts of the police result in tangible justice.
“We have sent a lot of people to jail. A clear message has been passed that it is no longer business as usual for criminals in Abia State,” CP Isa stated.
The CP further confirmed that over 200 suspects have been prosecuted, with many already serving prison sentences for their crimes.

A major highlight of the report involved the Command’s specialized units focused on human trafficking and child theft. The police successfully tracked and recovered 33 children who had been abducted or trafficked both within Abia and across state lines. The perpetrators of these crimes have been charged, with several convictions already secured.
Commissioner Isa attributed the decline in the state’s crime rate to a collaborative ecosystem involving the state executive and the citizenry. He specifically acknowledged the role of Governor Alex Otti in providing critical logistics and the importance of intelligence shared by local stakeholders.
Key Achievements at a Glance, Total Arrests: 809 suspects. Weaponry Seized: 88 arms and 435 ammunitions. Children Recovered: 33 victims of trafficking/theft.
