A technical failure on a key power feeder has disrupted electricity supply to the Utako district and sections of Wuye in the Federal Capital Territory.
The disruption was confirmed by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in a statement released on Monday, the 22nd of December, 2025.
The blackout, which began affecting residen early on December 22, 2025, stems from a mechanical malfunction within the distribution infrastructure specifically serving these neighborhoods.
In an official public notification, the utility provider clarified the situation: “We regret to inform you that the current power outage is due to a technical fault affecting the feeder serving your area,” AEDC said.
