The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kano State Chapter, has reacted to the recent blaze at Singer Market, voicing deep concern over the incident and pledging support to both the Kano State Government and traders impacted by the disaster.
In a statement released on Sunday, the 15th of February, 2026, by its Publicity Secretary, Nasiru Yusuf Ibrahim, the chapter’s Chairman, Dr Goni Faruk Umar, lamented the scale of destruction recorded at the market, describing the development as deeply distressing.
The forum extended sympathy to business owners who reportedly lost goods valued at billions of naira in the latest fire outbreak, as well as in a similar incident that occurred on the 2nd of February.
Umar also acknowledged the efforts of the Kano State Fire Service, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other emergency responders for their prompt intervention, which helped to curb the spread of the inferno and limit further losses.

According to the statement, “The Federal and Kano State governments should develop and implement strategic interventions aimed at preventing future occurrences of such devastating incidents.”
The ACF reiterated its solidarity with affected traders and urged authorities to adopt stronger safety protocols and improve emergency response systems across major markets in the state to forestall similar tragedies.
