Primate Elijah Ayodele, founder of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has inaugurated a mosque he personally built in honour of the late Abibatu Mogaji, mother of Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The mosque was officially commissioned on Saturday, February 14, 2026, during Ayodele’s annual thanksgiving service at Oke-Afa, Lagos. The event drew dignitaries from religious, traditional, political, and entertainment circles.
Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, the president’s first daughter, sent delegates to represent her, while Agbu Kefas, governor of Taraba State, was represented by his Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs.

Addressing guests, Ayodele described the mosque project as a “direct divine instruction” he could not ignore.
He emphasized that the facility is strictly a place of worship dedicated to God and that he has no personal interest in its administration or operations.
The cleric noted the gesture symbolises unity, religious tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, highlighting that mosques and churches serve the same spiritual purpose of bringing people closer to God.
The mosque, located within the INRI church premises in Oke-Afa, Lagos, is now open for worship and is expected to serve the surrounding Muslim community.
