The family of veteran Nollywood actress Peju Ogunmola has confirmed the death of her only son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle, while strongly refuting circulating claims that he died in a bathroom accident.
In a statement released by family spokesperson Yemi Amodu, the family clarified that Ayomikun passed away in Ibadan after a brief illness, not in the United Kingdom as some reports suggested.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved son, Sola Ayomikun Omobolanle — a jewel, a precious child, and a rising star whose light shone brightly and touched many lives. His departure is a profound loss to our family and to all who knew and loved him,” the family said.
They emphasised that Ayomikun received first-class medical care during his illness but sadly succumbed despite the best efforts of doctors. He has since been laid to rest in Ibadan.

“We wish to clearly state that Sola did not pass away as a result of any bathroom accident, contrary to false reports online. Such unfounded claims dishonour his memory and bring unnecessary pain to his loved ones,” the statement read.
The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from colleagues, friends, and well-wishers, noting that these gestures have been a source of strength in their time of grief.
