The Adamawa State Government has called on residents to turn out in large numbers to receive President Bola Tinubu, who is scheduled to embark on a one-day working visit to the state on Monday.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Iliya James, announced that temporary road closures would be enforced to facilitate the President’s movement and ensure security during the visit.
Affected routes include the Airport–Kofare Road via Galadima Aminu Way and Bank Road, Jimeta Grade Interchange/Police Roundabout, Justice Buba Ardo Way, Adamawa Sunshine Express–Faro Road, alongside adjoining roads. Motorists have been advised to use alternative routes for the duration of the exercise.
Residents were also encouraged to come out peacefully to welcome the President, with the government appealing for cooperation to ensure a smooth programme.
According to the state government, Tinubu’s visit will feature the commissioning of several projects executed under the administration of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Among the facilities billed for inauguration are the newly constructed underpass at the former Bekaji Roundabout, the expanded Bank Road in Yola, and a model school in Yola North Local Government Area — one of 21 recently completed across the state.
The President is also expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a new permanent orientation camp for the National Youth Service Corps in Malkohi, commission an ultra-modern High Court Complex, unveil the automated gate at Government House, and inaugurate the newly built Governor’s Office complex.
“These projects cut across critical sectors such as education, infrastructure, justice administration, governance, security, healthcare and human capital development,” Iliya said.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened across Adamawa ahead of the presidential visit.
The state police command confirmed the deployment of operational units, including the Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, Surveillance Squad and Crowd/Traffic Control teams, alongside covert operations aimed at ensuring a peaceful and incident-free visit.
