President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday briefly stumbled during a ceremonial march-past held in his honour at a parade ground in Türkiye, an incident that drew momentary attention before proceedings continued without interruption.
The President had joined the guard of honour as part of official reception activities marking the start of his state visit. Despite the brief misstep, the programme proceeded smoothly, with no impact on the schedule of events.
President Tinubu’s visit to Türkiye is aimed at strengthening the long-standing diplomatic and economic relations between both countries, while opening new fronts for cooperation in key sectors. He is expected to hold bilateral talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, focusing on trade, security, investment and regional collaboration.
The visit will also feature the signing of several memoranda of understanding designed to deepen strategic partnerships and enhance mutual economic benefits. A business forum scheduled on the sidelines of the trip is expected to bring together Nigerian and Turkish investors to explore opportunities for growth and cross-border investment.
