The Adara Development Association (ADA) in Kaduna State has urged Governor Uba Sani to reinstate the first-class status of the Adara Chiefdom.
The group recalled that the chiefdom was divided during the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai.
In a statement released on Monday, the 27th of October, 2025, the Publicity Secretary, Livinus Jatau, appealed to Governor Sani to correct what he described as a past injustice against the Adara people. He explained that restoring the chiefdom’s status would help strengthen their sense of belonging in the state.
ADA also raised concern over the renewed attacks by bandits in Kachia and Kajuru Local Government Areas, which have led to killings, kidnappings, and the destruction of property.
The association stated that, “The systematic attacks, siege and ethnic cleansing of Adara land began in 2016. During the period, Adara communities came under persistent, coordinated assaults that resulted in destruction, displacement, widespread killings, kidnappings, including the abduction and brutal killing of the paramount ruler, the Agom Adara, Dr. Raphael Galadima.”
According to the group, the emergence of Governor Uba Sani initially brought relief, as displaced residents returned to their communities, resumed farming, and started rebuilding their lives.

The statement, however, expressed worry that violence has resurfaced in a more organized and deadly manner. It said many communities are again under attack, with residents either killed or abducted, while several farmers are unable to access their farmlands.
Jatau further disclosed that schools, health centres, and markets have been destroyed in the renewed wave of violence.
He called on both the federal and Kaduna State governments to act swiftly by setting up permanent, well-equipped military outposts in vulnerable communities to stem the killings and restore peace.
