The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced plans for a nationwide mobilisation drive following the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) formal recognition of its new leadership team.
Party spokesman Bolaji Abdullahi made the disclosure on Wednesday, September 10, shortly after INEC confirmed former Senate President David Mark as the party’s National Chairman.
Other key officers officially acknowledged by the commission include Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary, Dr. Ibrahim Mani as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Professor Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.
Abdullahi said the recognition resolves months of uncertainty that had slowed the party’s activities nationwide.
“So we are happy. We can now move forward. With this, our members and even prospective members across the country can now be more confident that the party is stabilising. You will now see a lot more activities coming from across the states,” he said.

He added that ADC will resume full political operations immediately.
“You will now see people joining the party, membership registration resuming, and membership cards being issued.
“All of the activities that had been put on hold because of the uncertainty will now commence. The party is stable, and in the coming weeks you will see all of that happening,” Abdullahi said.
He stressed that ADC’s long-term goal is to become a credible alternative rather than chasing immediate political wins.
“We want Nigerians to get to 2027 and ask themselves, has this ruling party improved our lives or made our lives worse?… So we want a situation where people want a change, they can look back and see our party as a viable alternative,” Abdullahi said.
