Adeleke Endorses Tinubu for 2027, Secures PDP Backing for Second Term

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has declared his full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, even as he reaffirmed his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and received unanimous backing from the Osun PDP caucus for a second term in office.

The governor made the announcement on Tuesday via his verified X handle following a strategic meeting with the PDP leadership caucus in Osogbo. The meeting was the culmination of several weeks of consultations with key stakeholders across the state, including traditional rulers, civil servants, market leaders, and grassroots party members.

“I remain in the PDP, the party that gave me the platform to serve the good people of Osun,” Adeleke wrote.

“I have been unanimously endorsed by the Osun PDP for a second term in 2026.”

In a political move that has sparked conversations across party lines, Governor Adeleke also announced that the Osun PDP had endorsed President Tinubu—a native of Osun—for a second term in 2027.

“The love and support from the people of Osun continues to inspire me. Together, we move forward,” he concluded.

The development marks a significant moment in Osun State politics and adds a new dynamic to the unfolding political landscape ahead of the 2026 and 2027 general elections.
