Dr. Bolaji Akinola, Special Adviser to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has accused Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke of spreading falsehoods about his predecessor amid the ongoing local government administration crisis in the state.
Akinola said Adeleke was using “propaganda, falsehood and deliberate misinformation” to conceal administrative failures and disregard for judicial authority. He dismissed claims that Oyetola withheld funds from local councils, stating that any delays in financing were the responsibility of the Adeleke administration.
Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, also responded, accusing Oyetola of attempting to “reframe facts” and warning against misusing court rulings to justify illegal tenure extensions. He criticised the continued freezing of local government funds in the state and called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene.
