The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested three employees of an electrical company for allegedly stealing company wires.
The suspects, identified as Excellent Victor, Favour Kpenu, and Francis Amos, were apprehended while unlawfully removing and concealing electrical wires belonging to their employer, according to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Timfon John.
DSP John stated that the arrest followed credible intelligence, leading operatives to intercept the suspects in the act. Upon interrogation, they reportedly confessed to the crime.
“The suspects were apprehended while unlawfully removing and concealing electrical wires belonging to the company,” she said, adding that investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of their involvement.

Authorities have assured that the suspects will face legal proceedings once investigations are concluded.
The Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for criminal activities and warned that offenders would face the full weight of the law.
The police also urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help security agencies combat crime effectively.
