Fayose’s Brother Joins Ekiti Guber Race, Vows to Defeat Oyebanji

Emmanuel Fayose, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has declared his intention to contest the 2026 Ekiti governorship election, promising to unseat Governor Biodun Oyebanji.

Fayose, the younger brother of former Governor Ayodele Fayose, expressed confidence in securing the PDP ticket and winning the election. He said his decision was motivated by a commitment to reposition the state and restore public trust in governance.

Speaking to journalists in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, March 28, he vowed to rescue the state from the All Progressives Congress (APC), accusing the ruling party of failing the people.

“This is not just about politics for me; it is about the future of our state. Ekiti deserves a leader who understands the challenges facing the people and is ready to provide real solutions,” he said.

Fayose criticised the APC-led government, describing it as incompetent and out of touch with the needs of the people. He argued that Ekiti residents were tired of unfulfilled promises and desperate for real leadership.

He pledged to prioritise economic growth, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment, insisting that his administration would be different from the current one.

He also called for unity within the PDP, urging party members to put aside their differences and work towards reclaiming power.

“Ekiti people have seen enough of unfulfilled promises. They want a government that works for them, one that listens and delivers. PDP can provide that leadership, but we must first get it right within the party,” headded.
