The remains of prominent Nigerian business magnate and elder statesman, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, have arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, for his final rites. His Janazah (funeral prayer) is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, following the Asr (late afternoon) prayer, in accordance with Islamic tradition.
Spokesperson for the Dantata family, Mustapha Junaidu, confirmed the development in a statement released Tuesday morning, noting that the delegation accompanying the late philanthropist’s body had landed safely in the holy city.
“The aircraft landed in Madina. We are now heading to the city for further preparations of the funeral prayer,” Junaidu stated.

He added that final arrangements were underway to ensure that the burial ceremony is conducted with the dignity and religious observance befitting Dantata’s legacy.
Alhaji Aminu Dantata, aged 94, passed away on Friday in Abu Dhabi. He was a towering figure in Nigeria’s commercial and philanthropic sectors, widely respected for his contributions to economic development, education, and humanitarian causes over several decades.
Dantata’s burial in the holy city of Madina reflects the deep religious values that shaped his life and legacy, marking a solemn farewell to one of Nigeria’s most revered elder statesmen.
