Another Rivers commissioner resigns

Rivers political crisis, on Thursday, took a new dimension as the Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke, resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet.

Woke’s resignation came after the State’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN, also resigned his appointment.

While Adangor served in the same capacity in the immediate past administration of Nyesom Wike, Woke was Chief of Staff under the former governor.

Fubara had on assumption of office, appointed Woke as his Commissioner for Special Duties.

Woke confirmed his resignation to Punch correspondent on the telephone on Thursday evening.

“Yes, I have resigned as the Commissioner for Special Duties today, ” he said.

When asked if there was any reason for his resignation, he said, “When you get the soft copy of my letter of resignation, you will get the reason.”

Both Adangor and Woke are said to be strong allies of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike.
